Salary Range: $71,783.00 to $86,627.00

Pension information can be confusing, and you have a knack for taking complicated topics and turning them into something more straightforward. You enjoy meeting new people and helping them understand their pension so they can make informed decisions as they prepare for retirement. You take pride in being well organized, and you have experience with public speaking, designing and delivering information. Top notch customer service is your end game.
A typical day for the Information Specialist
  • Working with pension plan members to help them understand their pensions
  • Meeting pension plan members in an individual setting to answer their questions and help them understand their pension
  • Delivering knowledge-based webinars to groups of pension plan members
  • Working with a team to design innovative materials
  • Working with employers to coordinate pension information session
  • Working with clients to create content for their members
What you bring
  • At least two years’ experience in delivering workshops, seminars, and one-on-one information sessions to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all pension plans administered by APS including legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent facilitation and mediation skills.
  • Strong active listening, oral and written communication skills to effectively receive, interpret and disseminate information in a manner that is clear and concise.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all pension-related events, calculations, and statements.
  • Working knowledge of the member and employer education business area processes.
  • Familiar with industry best practices on delivery of services to employers and members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior communication skills, including verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Superior relationship-building and customer service skills; interpersonal skills used to build positive relationships.
  • Completion of or working towards completion of PPAC considered an asset.
  • Completion of or working towards completion of RPA program considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license; use of a personal vehicle is required.
  • Travel in Alberta is a requirement of this position.
