HFCRD Central Services is recruiting a Full-time Division IT Analyst to commence duties in April 2024.
The IT Analyst will plan, organize, and manage the overall IT operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. They will be responsible for providing internal Information Technology support, such as server security, software updates, and hardware maintenance. This position will provide technical advice and assistance to employees. This role will also troubleshoot errors and fix system issues via periodic testing, help desk tickets, and other methods.

- Knowledge and experience in implementing and managing WANs using site-to-site VPN and other networking strategies.
- Experience and understanding of the structure of servers and LANs to achieve multiple security zones with various levels of trust.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, ChromeOS, network concepts, PC hardware, software installation and software management, internet and Google Apps for Education, and Active Directory.
- Secondary education, certificate, diploma, or degree in the area of Information Technology.
- Able to work in a team environment.

- Possess a valid driver’s license.
PrimaryDuties:
- Administer user account management and processes
- Manage and respond to Helpdesk (E-Ticket) service requests
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, software, and peripheral devices.
- Assist in the installation, deployment, upgrade, and rollout of hardware, software, and services.
- Perform security and quality control testing.
- Evaluate and maintain the performance of computer systems, and infrastructure
- Evaluate hardware and software to ensure that they meet the division’s requirements
- Set up monitoring of the computer system to prevent any unauthorized access by employees during the workday.
- Assist with the planning, approval, and implementation of technology projects.
- Develop, maintain, support, and optimize key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure and server infrastructure.
- Oversee the implementation, deployment, and operation of the student information System.
- Conduct capacity planning for network bandwidth, storage requirements, messaging, websites, and other applications.
- Sets up and maintains a backup system for disaster recovery.
- Assist in transmitting student data electronically from schools to Alberta Education and the Division Office.
