Quorum is currently looking for an Infrastructure Specialist to join our growing team.

Quorum continues transforming our infrastructure solutions to modern cloud-based technologies. We are seeking an experienced person to join us on this journey. This is a business-critical role that maintains our commitment to operational excellence and will be instrumental in contributing to the formation of our DevOps group, shaping the culture, and driving for results. Possessing sound judgement with the ability to resolve complex issues, the Infrastructure Specialist role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration, automation, and operational excellence of our cloud environments. Your technical expertise, process optimization, and collaboration with development teams will drive efficiency, reliability, and innovation across our software development life cycle for our industry leading dealership software solutions. As an Infrastructure Specialist, you are committed to achieving the highest standards of customer satisfaction through your outstanding, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.


Here is what we will expect from you at work:

Objectives:

  • Maintain Production Infrastructure and Escalation Support:
    • Ensure the stability and reliability of production systems.
    • Provide timely escalation support for any production issues that arise.
  • CI/CD Tool Selection and Deployment:
    • Participate in selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools.
    • Enable continuous improvement by establishing a CI/CD pipeline for seamless integration, development, and deployment.
  • Development, Testing, and Automation:
    • Implement various development, testing, and automation tools.
    • Set up the necessary IT infrastructure to support these processes.
  • Support DevOps Processes:
    • Collaborate on the development, testing, release, update, and ongoing support processes for DevOps operations.
  • Process Monitoring, Optimization and Automation:
    • Monitor processes throughout their lifecycle.
    • Ensure adherence to established processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Encourage and build automated processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Technical Problem Solving:
    • Identify and address technical challenges as they arise.
  • Cybersecurity Measures:
    • Continuously assess vulnerabilities and deploy cybersecurity measures to protect systems.
  • Collaborate with Software Development Teams:
    • Work closely with development teams to improve their processes.
    • Implement tools for code testing and analysis.
  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Plan and execute projects related to infrastructure and development.
    • Be involved in project management decisions.
  • Mentorship and Guidance:
    • Mentor and guide other team members across the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Provisioning and Management:
    • Design, build, and maintain a secure, robust, and scalable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Terraform.
    • Implement best practices for monitoring applications and provide recommendations for application improvements.
  • Automation and Workflow Scaling:
    • Develop tools, automation scripts, and standards to scale our development team.
    • Ensure smooth operation of production systems and test/staging environments.
  • Cloud Services Expertise:
    • Demonstrate solid experience with various AWS services, including:
      • Amazon EC2
      • Amazon RDS
      • Amazon ElastiCache
      • AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service)
      • Amazon S3
      • Auto Scaling Groups (ASG)
      • Amazon CloudWatch
      • AWS Lambda
      • Load Balancers
    • Additionally, experience or familiarity with the following is beneficial:
      • Heroku
      • Laravel Forge
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure is also valuable.
  • Containerization and Orchestration:
    • Utilize container technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS (Elastic Container Service).
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):
    • Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient software releases.
    • Collaborate with development teams to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
    • Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and CircleCI is beneficial.
  • Databases:
    • Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
  • Monitoring:
    • Implement centralized monitoring and logging for different stacks using tools like Datadog and the Grafana stack.
    • Set up automated alerts and notifications to proactively identify issues.
  • Documentation and Technical Communication:
    • Write clear documentation, sample code, tutorials, and technical presentations for various stakeholders.
    • Clear communication skills with the ability to adapt communication to different levels of business and technical understanding.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement security best practices within the AWS environment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years' experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash, Powershell).
  • Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Strong experience with Linux (Red-Hat and Debian based distributions) and Windows systems
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Github.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
