Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.
Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
Position
The Interface & Logistic Manager is an integral part of Woodfibre LNG's dynamic team. You will ensure that products, equipment, and people move from various off-site laydowns and suppliers to site in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Interface and Logistics is a key part of the supply chain, working to plan, control and implement the storage and flow of products, material, information, or services. You will also be responsible to manage warehouse inventory, update records, monitor / manage budgets, select carriers for road transportation sea travel and barging while negotiating rates and contracts with carriers and mitigate any delays that may affect schedule and budget. The successful candidate reports directly to the Project Construction Manager and will play an essential part in supporting the company's construction and senior management team through the construction phase of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will:
- Manage PMT local business and office management, including visitors' coordination, meeting setups, etc.
- Support Project Management Leadership in the coordination of all weekly, monthly and compliance meetings, reporting and action lists.
- Support Contracts Manager with contract management including coordination, correspondence and records management of all EPC Contract documents.
- Coordinate with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction on change management.
- Coordinate with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction on risk management.
- Manager and coordinate all Project Discipline Closeout Reports for Final Project Closeout
Logistic:
- Review RFP, bid recommendations and POs including terms and conditions, cost, schedule, inspection, expediting, buy downs, etc. to meet project requirements.
- Ensure effective communication of project procurement activities to the project team (purchasing, logistics, quality control surveillance, supplier quality, trade compliance, expediting, etc.).
- Maintain project budget information for procurement activities and reports same to management.
- Lead Company reviews and approvals of RFPs, commercial bid tabulations, purchase recommendations and purchase orders ensuring compliance with the project procurement plan, budget, schedule and cost.
- Identify, resolve and mitigate any issues relating to contractors and suppliers performance while ensuring a positive working relationships.
- Ensure that all supply chain activities within the area of responsibility are carried out in accordance to RGE Core Values, Ethics Policy, and the Supply Chain Code of Conduct.
Requirements
Required Experience:
- 10+ years' experience working in an EPC Contractor or Owner organization in the oil & gas industry with onshore and offshore projects preferred.
- 10 + years' experience working supply chain experience.
- 5+ years' experience in major EPC contractor or Owner company in a functional business unit supervisory or management position.
- Understanding of EPC lump sum contracting.
- Has experience in contract negotiating skills to support change and claims management.
- Team player with proven management and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills as well as sound written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of preparing reports and presentations in a timely manner
Additional Requirements:
- Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams, contractors in a multicultural environmental is an asset.
- Communication/interpersonal skills – to be able to interact with front line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.
- Willingness to relocate to agreed location for given duration, if required, to support engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and/or commissioning
- Willingness to see the project through to final completion and handover to Operations.
- Experience working with large multi-disciplinary teams, contractors in a multicultural environmental is an asset.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities within tight time frames.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Navisworks, Adobe Acrobat)
- Motivated and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Energetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processes
- Squamish Area residents preferred or live locally within 30 minutes-1hr drive is preferred.
- A valid driver's license (with abstract), and passport.
- Must be comfortable with Marine type environment as site is remote and travel daily is by boat only and is approximately 7km from Squamish.
- This role will be a combination of office site-based role.
- The position is based at our Site in Squamish, BC. There may be occasional travel to a local engineering office in the Vancouver area, the EPC contractor's office in Houston or to the Company's Vancouver Office.
Benefits
Salary range: CAD 120,000 - 160,000/yr
