Position Summary

Malahat Nation (and Victoria), British Columbia (Onsite)

Thales is looking for a Warehouse Manager who is responsible and accountable for the daily operation of the main warehouse located in Malahat Nation as well as the effective and timely execution of logistics activities for both warehouses located in Malahat Nation and Victoria, B.C.

In this overarching role, as the Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for a team of Warehouse Operators and Warehouse Coordinators to support our programs. You will manage and coordinate the team to provide an uninterrupted flow of materials required by the business. And work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the customer to resolve issues and support material availability for the programs.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Responsible for all domains of the Warehouse including daily warehouse operations: receiving, storing, organization and cleanliness, and distributing of inventory.

  • Conducting freight management - inward/outward to ensure IncoTerms are monitored, customs requirements are adhered to, and dangerous goods are processed in accordance with industry standards.

  • Responsible for all Warehouse policies and procedures with collaboration from stakeholders for operational improvement; develop and implement a program of continuous improvement in line with supply chain processes.

  • Providing inventory control and asset security with cycle counts and reporting, including supporting obsolescence and dormant inventory initiatives.

  • Prepare and generate reports: maintain registers and support KPIs in collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager and/ or stakeholders.

  • Responsible for leading and supervising direct reports including feedback on employee performance, annual objectives, and reviews; Perform the recruitment, induction, and training of staff; Adjust workload according to priorities, last minute requests or unforeseen situations; including operational team management with the allocation of staff shifts holiday coverage and absences.

  • In partnership with the HSE initiatives, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards and codes including ISO series quality accreditation and Defense regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience performing similar activities within a supply chain environment.

  • Experience working within Procurement and/or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments.

  • Previous experience in the Defense Industry.

  • Previous experience in the use of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and interface between multiple internal/external stakeholders.

  • Self-started who is adept at problem solving, maintaining attention to detail while working autonomously.

Special Position Requirements

Physical Demands: Predominantly office based but may be required to lift up to 22kg/50lbs and walk or stand for extended periods of time.

Schedule: Spilt time between two warehouse locations.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is based on $63,719.44 - $118,336.10 CAD Annual range. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
