The Employment and Labour Market Services Division supports all British Columbians in achieving sustainable employment. To help those in need find and maintain employment, the division works with contracted service providers to provide job search resources, employment planning, skills assessment, training, work experience and more.
The Full Stack Developer is responsible for contributing in development and delivery of scalable web applications in a continuous deployment environment.
Job Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Information Technology/Information Management field and six (6) months of *related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Information Management field and one (1) year of *related experience; OR
  • Diploma in Information Technology/Information Management field and two (2) years of *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered.

*Related experience includes the following:
  • Experience with Frontend (e.g., Angular, React or Vue) or backend technologies (e.g., NodeJS, Python, .NET Core).
  • Experience with version control technologies such as subversion and Git and/or development in an open-source environment.
  • Experience working in a team-environment.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
  • Experience with API development and integration and continuous development environments.
  • Experience with a variety of modern development tools such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript frameworks, relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases.
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Two (2) ormore years of hands-on software development experience (e.g., co-op or volunteer).

Currently there are two (2) permanent positions available.
