Salary Range
$78,729.94 - $ 89,687.19 annually which includes a 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment* Plus $53.13 bi-weekly isolation allowance for Fort Nelson and $36.53 bi-weekly isolation allowance for Smithers locations.

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity within the Infrastructure and Platform Services team for a dynamic and driven Full Stack Developer. As our organization continues to evolve and expand, we seek a talented individual to play a key role in developing, integrating, and consolidating enterprise applications in support of ministry strategic and operational goals and functions within the agile scrum team as the lead developer. This work involves overseeing major (high priority and impact, large dollar value) software development projects, monitoring operational applications, and health checks.
As a Full Stack Developer within our Infrastructure and Platform Services team, you will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and assessing the application's performance and health, monitoring business crucial applications, investigating and performing impact analysis for operational issues, and reporting in a timely manner to the applications support team. In addition, you will be participating in designing and developing an automated monitoring and health check system for the Sector.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science related field and 2 years of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a computer science related field and 3 years related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a computer science related field and 4 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:
  • Experience as an Intermediate Stack Developer.
  • Experience using a variety of modern development tools, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript libraries, relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with API development and integration and continuous development environments.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience:
  • Experience developing and analysing metrics from operating systems and applications to support in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Experience maintaining live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Experience evaluating existing applications and platforms, and providing recommendations for improving performance, and conducting analysis to identify alternative solutions as required.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals (e.g. filesystems, system calls).
