The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure plans and improves transportation networks, builds new infrastructure, provides transportation services, and implements transportation policies, to provide a fully integrated transportation system that advances economic and social growth and moves goods and people safely within British Columbia and to markets beyond.
The Manager, Systems Services manages the delivery of Information System Services to the Ministry's Regions and for Provincial systems infrastructure, including developing and delivering information systems projects, providing technical support for client software/systems, hardware, networks, and telecommunications.
Among other accountabilities, this position is responsible for providing subject matter technical expertise in a broad range of infrastructure technologies and new systems development projects and supporting the information systems requirements for province-wide delivery of field services, commercial vehicle safety enforcement, engineering (software procurement, licensing renewals, network-based licensing migration and a provincial storage system), the 24/7 operation of the Transportation Management Centre (TMC), as well as the provincial permitting centre.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or post-secondary study in a related field and a minimum five (5) years of directly related, recent (within the last ten (10) years) experience with information technology programs.
Related experience includes experience in each of the following (preference may be given for those with recent (within the last five (5) years experience):
- Planning, development, and implementation of information systems projects.
- Applying project management principles and methodologies.
- Managing multiple priorities.
- Budget development and management.
- Identifying and analyzing emerging issues, trends in information technology and opportunities where information technology can enhance the delivery of program/business priorities.
- Creating quality technical and end-user documentation that express complex issues clearly and concisely.
- Client/customer relations.

About this Position:
There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Coquitlam.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
