IT Technician Job Parameters:
40 hr work week – Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, overtime & on-call available.
Location: Main Office is near Iron Springs, AB.
Job Overview:
Cattle Tech Inc. is looking for an IT Technician. The IT Technician must diagnose, repair, and maintain computer and network hardware and software components for efficient system operation. They must plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks on feedlots. They would need to act as a point of contact for customers who experience computer issues, implementing new technology upgrades, and serving as a reference point for all IT-related questions.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software components
- Troubleshooting and replacing hardware and software issues and increasing overall efficiency
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software and security systems to ensure network security
- Performing tests and evaluations on software and hardware
- Offering information and support to customers and maintaining relationships
- Monitoring daily performance of IT systems, including computers, programs, and networks
- Developing data backup systems and disaster recovery contingencies
- Staying up-to-date with new IT developments in the industry
- Setting up Windows servers, active directories and remote desktop access
- Setting up routers and switches, multiple sub-nets. Setting up VLANs for routing traffic across the network.
- Router firewalls, static'ing IP addresses, opening ports for different programs
- Assembling network racks, installing routers & switches on network racks
- Installing wireless radios on buildings, roofs, feed mills (>70 ft in the air)
- Setting up/Configuring Network Security Cameras
- Setting up NVR (Network Video Recorder)
- Installing Cameras and NVR, running network cable and making it look nice.
- Doing research to find new technology, things that might help us be better at what we do
- Stress testing computers and hard drives
- Assembling computers
