Job Overview

Regional Janitorial and Maintenance is ready to inspire a Janitorial and Maintenance Lead in our evolving maintenance project in Elora, Ontario. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Janitorial and Maintenance Lead’s primary accountability is balancing the execution of Janitorial and Maintenance projects, Team leadership and client services.

Salary: $20.00/hr to $25.00/hr

Employment Type: Full-time, contract

Key Accountabilities

• Lead by example; join our Janitorial Associates and Subcontractors in preparing, cleaning, and maintaining client facilities and construction sites.
• Move construction debris, materials and equipment.
• Conduct specialized maintenance and construction duties such as concrete repair and epoxy application.
• Handle and distribute construction materials.
• Review and execute maintenance and janitorial project deliverables with the Team according to the specifications and schedule.
• Foster and promote a positive and safe work culture.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to address client inquiries and requests.
• Support the scheduling and coordination of service deliverables.
• Ensure that that services are performed according to service specifications and scheduling while exceeding client expectations.
• Conduct facility quality inspections and support the Operations Manager with the implementation of corrective actions.
• Actively and consistently collaborate in health and safety, security and cleanliness initiatives.
• Maintain and use a variety of equipment and tools.
• Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement and logistics of project materials.
• Participate and contribute to ongoing learning and development programs onsite and through Regional’s e-Learning platform.

Job Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of maintenance, janitorial or custodial experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Professional working proficiency of the English language.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
• Basic technology literacy with cell phones, computers, email and online applications.
• Self-drive in meeting project deliverables, deadlines, and client expectations
• Positive, professional, safety oriented and client-centric attitude.
• Proven experience as a collaborative Team player.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions in both indoor and outdoor environments, including confined spaces.
• Working knowledge of Janitorial and Maintenance operations, equipment, and best practices.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, stand for long periods and lift and work with materials up to 55 lbs.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Ability to work overtime hours and on weekends according to schedules that meet the needs of Regional's evolving projects.
