Job Description:
The Junior Process Engineer is responsible for providing support to the Project Leader and Engineering Manager and may be assisting in more than one product line by assisting with APQP and new project, internal defect analysis, root cause analysis, customer complaint investigation, corrective actions, and continual improvement activities. This position will utilize Microsoft Office, AutoCAD programs, recognize needs and take initiative to manage competing demands while demonstrating organization and attention to detail. It will also require the ability to read and understand blue prints/inspection plans. This position will indirectly report to the Engineering Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production members (Assistant Manager, Engineers, Specialists) to assess existing processes.
- Draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates
- Perform risk assessments
- Design and test process upgrades and new process systems
- Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards
- Perform process simulations and troubleshoot issues
- Perform optimization tests
- Develop routines and best practices to ensure product quality
- Develop standardized operating instructions for process upgrades
- Other support for engineering activities as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Process Engineer within an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures
- Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD
- Advanced analytical and technical skills
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong presentation, written and verbal skills
- Works well under pressure and reacts to stressful situations with professionalism
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent human relation skills and ability to work with various levels within an organization
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Professional appearance and manners
