What we are looking for
A junior member of the maintenance team is a key role in the Calgary Farm. You will be responsible for assisting our maintenance team in ensuring that our plant and equipment are in optimal working condition. The Junior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and supporting the maintenance team in carrying out larger maintenance projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist the maintenance team in performing routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, inspection, and cleaning of equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues and perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure that work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Assist with larger maintenance projects as directed by the maintenance team.
- Ensure that the plant and equipment are kept clean and organized.
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some experience in maintenance, mechanical, or technical field.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Prioritize safety and demonstrate knowledge of safe work practices
- Technical aptitude and demonstrated interest in maintenance
- Willingness and ability to pursue additional technical training
- Hands on worker with basic mechanical skills
- Good communication skills and ability to understand technical instructions
- Willingness to work at heights
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
- Knowledge of SQF, CFIA, and HACCP protocols is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
