Flynn Group of Companies is currently looking for a Lead Hand-Crating to assist the Foreman-Crating with execution of day-to-day operations at our Mississauga Manufacturing facility.
Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
A Day in the Life- Take an active approach to supervising and directing personnel by being present on the floor
- Report personnel labour hours and production rates to attain a 95% labour efficiency rate
- Prepare assembly lines for daily and weekly production
- Ensure the quality of work meets standards by having COPQ below 5% of sold goods
- Ensure 95% of schedules are adhered to
- Motivate workers to complete work on time and attain a minimum score of 66% on employee engagement surveys
- Ensure safety programs are followed and lost time hours are below 10
- Responsible for the training of new operators
- Ability to program various machines on the floor
- Complete the tooling requirements and conduct safety checks for machines
- Responsible for supervising a team of employees
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to various team members
- Complete material stock outs as well as first off QA sheets
What We Are Seeking
- Previous experience supervising, delegating and coaching a small team in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to build crates/skids as per instructions
- Ability to utilize a variety of measuring tools (tapes, calipers, etc.)
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel)
- Team player with a proactive, safety-oriented mind set
- Must be willing to be cross-trained and rotated throughout departments as needed
