Position: Production Lead Hand
Duties: You're perfect for this role if you're a jack of all trades in a Door Shop, you have prior experience operating a variety of door machines, and you like to set the pace for quality and safety standards.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
- lead by training, mentoring, teaching, and working as part of the team
- assisting supervisors with daily employee coaching, ad-hoc training, employee reviews and employee discipline as needed to maintain a positive and product culture
- attain production targets
- assist in creating a culture of continuous improvement
- think outside of the box to overcome problems and persevere to get the job done
- learn every position in the Door Shop and assist management in revising SOP's as necessary
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 10:00am to 8:30pm
Compensation (depending on experience): $30 per hour
CORE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- One or more years of Lead Hand experience required
- Leadership skills
- Door industry experience would be an asset
- Regular and consistence attendance
- Work with minimal supervision
- Able to safely use all power and air tools associated with a pre-hung Door Shop such as table saw, chop saw, skill saw, drills and screw guns, pneumatic staplers, nail guns, etc.
- Mathematical aptitude and understanding of imperial measurements to the 1/32 of an inch
- Able to bend, stand and/or be on your feet in a production environment for an extended period of time
- Able to lift, pull and push 40-50 lbs. throughout an entire shift
- Willingness to be hands on in all requirements of a door pre-hung production shop
- Good written English and communication skills
- One or more years of Reach Truck Experience would be an asset
- One or more years of Forklift Experience would be an asset
