JOB OVERVIEW
This position will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical equipment, resident units and the building in general performing repairs and maintaining everything in good working order. This may include but is not limited to: plumbing work, painting, small electrical repairs, heating, and air conditioning system maintenance. This position also ensures the building is secured at the end of the day and is responsible for garbage and recycling removal. Seasonal external maintenance of the building is also required.
Hours of Work:
Thursday and Friday 15 hours a week, 12pm-8pm
May be required to work some statutory holidays and/or weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance.
- Complete basic repairs and maintenance.
- Equipment repairs/ maintenance (door hardware, HVAC filters replacement and cleaning, lighting repairs/ replacement, etc.)
- Plumbing (able to repair/ replace fixtures and repair minor leaks)
- Electrical (lighting/ ballast replacement)
- Minor wall repairs and touch up painting.
- Monitor building for deficiencies and report to Maintenance Manager
- Completion of building checks to ensure building is secure at end of day.
- Must have some experience with hand operated and power tools.
- Complete checklists at the end of the shift
- Seasonal snow removal
- Garbage removal daily at various intervals
Maintenance Worker Requirements:
- Proven maintenance experience.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to use common tools such as hammers, drills, and wrenches.
- Experience performing routine maintenance.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
- Effective time management skills.
- Must be able to lift to 44lbs.
- Must be able to use ladders.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
