Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of the International Wealth Management (IWM) in Canada and countries in the IWM footprint, by collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Under the leadership of the 1A Risk Transformation Director, the incumbent will support the design and implementation of the 1A Risk Oversight activities followed across the IWM's footprint. In addition, the incumbent will perform Quality Control testing activities (reviews, reports, metrics, action plans, implementation, and validation) and will participate in the reviewing of corrective actions to address control deficiencies. Strong collaboration with 3LOD partners within GWM and IB. IWM's footprint includes 10+ jurisdictions and business lines include Private Banking; Onshore and Offshore Trust; Onshore and Offshore brokerage; Asset Management & Pensions.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Support the analysis and management activities across a portfolio of interrelated projects to develop and refine the company's financial and non-financial risk management capabilities (such as governance, controls frameworks & handbooks), and satisfy regulatory requirements.
• Work with key partners and engage tactically in specific areas as needed to resolve day-to-day issues and challenges. Build strong, effective, and collaborative partnerships across multiple cross-functional teams.
• Supports the design and development of risk frameworks, operating models, and process re-engineering in accordance with applicable regulation(s), business initiatives, internal policies and procedures, and sound risk management practices.
• Establishes and maintains tools and mechanisms to proactively monitor and analyze, including the design and development of Key Risk Indicators / Key Performance Indicators, and escalation.
• Prepare risk related reports to timely update senior management and stakeholders on progress, obstacles, and critical dependencies.
• Standardize reporting to maintain consistency across all jurisdictions. Ensure there is a strong and effective escalation culture.
• Works with colleagues in other areas of Risk Management, Compliance/Internal Controls and the Businesses to assure appropriate management of Operational Risk processes, and business activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
• Take actions as required to implement corrective action plans, ensuring consistency in reporting and data integrity.
• Performs ad-hoc, special, focused, and/or other duties and projects as necessary.
• Identifies opportunities to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and risk mitigation and recommends enhancements to the process, including controls, follow-up, and escalation process.
• Document risk management controls and subject them to ongoing oversight, and testing.
• Identify patterns, issues or trends that may indicate possible deficiencies or breaches of risk controls.

Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

• Knowledge on risk management principles and enterprise standards.
• fluency in Spanish
• Knowledge of business lines, products & services, and delivery channels within a financial intuition, preferably within wealth management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Bank's risk policies and procedures.
• Understanding of the financial services industry and capital markets of the international marketplace (i.e. asset management, brokerage, trust, mutual funds, and pensions).
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: Excel (advanced, v-look ups and pivot tables), Microsoft Access (SQL and crystal reports), Visio, MS Project and Power BI / Power Apps
• Knowledge on data management, data analysis and reporting, using scripts/tools such as SQL (Python) is a plus.
• Minimum of (5 years) of financial services industry experience, with testing or audit examinations roles and an understanding of testing methodology and risk and controls analysis. Process mapping and documentation.
• Preference given to those with International Banking, Risk and Wealth Management experience
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English and Spanish (preferable) languages.
• Proven ability to stablish credibility and effectively influence others. Manage different stakeholders from different cultures and disciplines
• Excellent time-management skills are essential to manage a diverse workload.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent execution capability with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure, curious and continuous learner.
