Department Overview

The Enterprise Protect is an enterprise-level body that strives to protect TD Bank Group customers, shareholders and employees from financial crimes and fraud. Aligned with TD strategy and risk appetite, Enterprise Protect develops and evolves enterprise policies, advanced analytics capabilities and operational processes to improve governance, oversight, and collaboration between fraud management and other control functions within the Bank.
The Canadian Performance Management (CPM) team operates within Enterprise Protect in a fast-paced environment requiring both strategic and tactical responses to changing fraud patterns and provides a unique opportunity to apply critical thinking and leadership skills in an innovation centric environment

About this Role

As the most senior technical individual contributor within Canadian Performance Management, you will be responsible for leading complex initiatives, assisting with projects and being the trusted fraud SME. You will work across fraud portfolios, interact with vendors and partners across Enterprise Protect and beyond. You will provide required coverage and support to assist or lead incidents, represent fraud at forums, and will assist with urgent escalations. With deep analytics and fraud experience you would provide consultation support and take part in ideation and solutioning of fraud problems.

Fraud Loss Management

  • Leads or consults in ideation and solutioning of immediate threats as well as proactive mitigation of more complex strategies
  • Reviews fraud attacks to understand and address coverage gaps across fraud portfolios
  • Leads defect analysis to identify and remediate coverage gaps across fraud portfolios
  • Provides insights and support decision-making at the executive level
  • Uncovers and resolves process gaps throughout the bank, helping inform the departmental priorities
  • Helps assist with urgent emerging threats

Partner Support

  • Supports project intent and ongoing partner projects, leveraging fraud expertise to help develop resilient products and processes
  • Ensures fraud requirements were reliably delivered within project IT releases across the bank

Job Requirements

Share your most relevant experience, credentials and knowledge for this role, as well as these essential requirements and attributes:

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate
  • Seven (7) or more years relevant experience
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented, tech-savvy, and proficient working with big data
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably from a STEM program
  • 4+ years’ experience in an analytical capacity
  • Ability to quickly and independently structure and deliver on new problems not previously tackled by the bank
  • Demonstrated analytical, modeling and problem solving skills
  • Conceptual thinker, ability to wade through data and arrive at conclusions
  • Ability to communicate strategy analysis to both technical and non-technical team members, either verbally or via documentation
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently under tight timelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and comfort in interacting with all levels of management
  • Advanced in Python and SQL and possesses working knowledge in PySpark for data analysis and/or reporting
  • Demonstrated experience with various fraud engines (e.g., TSYS CardGuard, ADS, Cardinal and VRM)
