What your role will be…
Manager, Data Systems Projects
Contributes to the overall success of the Automotive Finance business-line in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives, as related to Data Systems. Ensures all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What you'll be doing…
- Leads, implements, and supports the execution and results for inter and cross-departmental projects related to data for Automotive Finance.
- Manages and tracks requests for enhancements or changes to Data Systems and reporting; responds to requests for information about Data Systems and processes.
- Serves as an SME on data flows and systems used to support the Automotive Finance business-line at Scotiabank.
- Coordinates with IT&S on data-related projects and test results.
- Obtains, clarifies requirements and document all requests to Data and Analytics team.
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Responsible for managing internal/external relationships with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

What you need to succeed…
- University degree in computer science, engineering, business or similar field is required.
- 2-3 years of Data System and SQL related work experience required (design and development, SQL statements, data import/export).
- Knowledge of PowerBI and report design.
- Experience with project management and relationship management (especially with IT&S partners), translating between business and technical teams and working in an Agile environment.
- In-depth knowledge of business-related computer software specifically Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience preparing documentation such as Business Requirement Documents, Business Source to Target Mapping Documents and project roadmaps.
- Experience with testing results of data projects.
- Knowledge of software development and implementation process.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Self-reliance and proactive approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with superb attention to detail.
- Highly developed problem-solving and critical decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional business relationships.
