Our Valleyview branch is hiring! The Manager in Training will report to the branch manager to effectively learn all aspects of the branch and duties associated with the manager’s position, including but not limited: operations, sales, financial, product knowledge, employee relations.
Manager in Training is a 1–2-year program to advance your career path, preparing you to take on a branch management and/or strategic sales role within our organization. You will be a part of a small branch offering advanced hands-on experience, training, and exposure to multiple leaders and key stakeholders.
What will you do?
- Branch Operations: shipping/receiving, logistics, health and safety, and establish effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers.
- Inside Sales: technical support, customer service, order taking, and walk-in customer assistance.
- Inventory Management and Logistics: dispatch and delivery scheduling, material ordering, cycle counts, and fleet maintenance.
- Product Knowledge: learning products and product vendor engagement
- Customer Sales: sales administration, customer calling, relationship building, pricing, and credit.
- People Management: professional development, recruiting, financial performance and budgeting, and be an active part in the growth and development of an inclusive, safe, and respectful culture among the team and community.
- Fill in for vacant shifts as needed.
- Implement and maintain all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure all statutory regulations for safety and security for both employees and guests are maintained.
- This position is overtime eligible; OT may be requested.
What will you bring?
- Leadership experience is ideal.
- Working knowledge of oilfield supply business is a must have.
- Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO), Pipes, Valves, and Fittings (PVF), and Artificial Lift Systems (ALS) materials, products, and marketplace is preferrable.
- Knowledge of the local marketplace and the oil field supply business is desirable.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and commitments.
- Willing to work hard and have a drive to succeed.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and customer-focused skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and SAP is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required and an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
- This position is subject to pre-employment testing (drug and alcohol).
