Job Description
- Providing routing simulation and scenarios for delivery schedule optimization including
- cost comparison
- Benchmark RCS weekly transportation costs, maximize cube utilization and cases shipped per trailer/truck, analyze and update routing to minimize transportation costs
- Work with replenishment to ensure all haul back opportunities are maximized
- Ensure all haul backs are received into the RSC on schedule.
- Verify charges and process all transportation invoices.
- Schedule departure time to ensure shipping staff have time to prepare loads for shipping
- Responsible for updating all deliveries in EXE
- Responsible for analyzing all transportation rates/contracts
- Responsible for all issues relating to customer service relating to deliveries
- Coach, counsel and discipline as required
- Establish driver and equipment requirements for all deliveries
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets
- Ensure key performance indicators and budgeted costs are met
- Manage Third Party (Brokers) to ensure company standard requirements and policies are being adhered to
- Manage the performance of the transportation staff
- Update records and ensure compliance with government regulations i.e. CVOR, driver abstracts, vehicle licensing and insurance
- Develop processes, procedures and controls to provide the best service
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
- All other duties assigned
Job Requirements
- A minimum of five years experience in a Retail Support Centre
- A Minimum of three years supervisory experience
- Experience in EXE
- Strong understanding of business processes
- Experience in SAP
- Post Secondary Diploma or Degree
- Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Retail support centre
- Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
- Occasionally lift over 88 lbs
- Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Possible exposure to extreme temperatures
- Alertness to other people and vehicles
- Various shifts including evenings and weekends
