Responsibility Summary:

The Marketing Specialist (MS) is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic marketing programs implemented throughout the firm. The MS recommends methods for communicating messages effectively, creates communication plans, crafts communications and coordinates messaging schedules with other areas throughout the firm.

These programs use of a wide variety of marketing resources to support either the business objectives of assigned departments or the Marketing Division. This position directly supports the Client Experience & Insights sleeve of Marketing focused on communications to existing clients, tools and technology enhancements that aid the client experience as well as market research.

The MS will support programs through many different channels, including, but not limited to:
    • Client Newsletter
    • Online access (client secure site) & the mobile app
    • Direct marketing
    • Ad Builder templated materials
    • Promotional materials
    • Digital/web/email/letters
    • Internal communication mediums

Marketing communication plans are developed and executed to clients. The MS will provide marketing consulting services to other firm business areas (both ongoing via specific projects and annually during business planning) working hand-in-hand with the product and solutions and training areas to name a few.
  • A minimum of 4 years, demonstrating thorough knowledge and understanding of marketing principles; or 2+ years of marketing in the financial services industry, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Journalism/communications
  • General knowledge of marketing disciplines: marketing communications, direct mail/email, broadcast, advertising, public relations, sales promotion, database marketing, market research and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of branding objectives, positioning strategy and ongoing Marketing Division-driven initiatives.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Demonstrated ability to take complicated topics and develop clear communications that inform and educate associates and clients.
  • Able to articulate creative strategy and key messages.
  • Ability to develop measurement of marketing programs to track metrics.
  • Ability to write requirements for new technology features and test new online access/app enhancements.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and follow processes to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Problem solving:
  • With guidance, determine the most effective, appropriate, and cost-efficient way to implement a marketing solution to a business objective.
  • Provide advice to business areas in identifying the most effective methods for communicating programs/initiatives and measuring results.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Decision Making:

The MS will make complex and non-routine decisions by collaborating with the Marketing Leader. The MS provides guidance on decisions regarding which media to use, programs and services to leverage from the US, programs and initiatives that need to be locally sourced and which initiatives receive priority.
