DUTIES:
The incumbent will work closely with the Durham College Communications & Marketing team supporting activities related to marketing and recruitment. With an emphasis on providing service targeted toward prospective students, parents, teachers and guidance counsellors, the incumbent will:
- Coordinate the campus tour program for the Student Recruitment team. Lead individual and group tours of the Oshawa and Whitby campuses, both virtually and in-person. Maintain supplies and inventory for tour packages and events.
- Assist with email and phone campaigns to provide updates to students in the Customer Management System.
- Respond in a timely and accurate manner to recruitment inquiries by phone, e-mail and live chat.
- Assist with organizing and implementing virtual and on-campus events and information sessions.
- Assist with the development of marketing and promotional strategies to ensure successful marketing and recruitment initiatives. May include conducting competitive analysis and working on other projects with the Communications and Marketing team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two-year diploma in the areas of business, event planning, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, sales or other related areas.
- One year of work experience in an office environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficient in word-processing, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Familiar with virtual meeting platforms that may include Google Meet, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Possess a comfort level with public speaking, and good written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Must be self-directed, motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Thorough knowledge of Durham College and its programs is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Banner Student Information System is an asset.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and comfortably handle multiple priorities.
- Possess the qualities of tact, integrity and diplomacy.
