About this opportunity:
As a member of Celestica's Brand and Marketing Communications team, the Corporate Communications and Marketing Intern will be responsible for supporting employee communications programs, social media and Marketing communications activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who has just completed a degree or diploma in communications, marketing or another related field.
The candidate must be a strong writer who is enthusiastic, creative, detail- oriented and thrives in a collaborative team environment with a high level of energy. Proficiency in Google Docs is required and social media dashboard experience would be an asset.
Activities:
The Corporate Communications and Marketing Intern will support various communications programs and initiatives including:
- Managing the company’s intranet, creating compelling content and managing updates.
- Assisting in the development of marketing communications collateral including writing, managing translations and distribution.
- Working with the social media lead in executing social media strategies, creating social media content, creating SEO optimized blog posts and managing social media campaigns.
- Conducting competitor analysis, research and monitoring, identifying trends that support our communications objectives.
- Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of a variety of employee events, such as company town halls and engagement-building activities
- Coordinating tradeshow and conference planning and execution.
- Assisting with budget management, including invoice processing and tracking, and creating purchase orders.
- Undertaking special projects and other duties as required.
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Experience: No formal experience required.
Education: Completion of a university degree or college diploma program specializing in communications or marketing. Or currently enrolled in an internship/co-op program, completing the third year of a four-year university program or the second year of a three-year college diploma program specializing in communications or marketing. A post-graduate certificate in public relations, marketing or Corporate Communications would be an asset.
