About the Position:
The Materials Coordinator will have responsibility for shipping/receiving activities, material staging processes and schedule maintenance.
Hours of Work:
Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday), 7:00AM to 11:00AM Friday - 40 Hours Per Week
What will you be doing:
Receive information from the Production Control Manager on what must be completed for that day.
Determines method of shipment and prepares bills, invoices, and other shipping documents.
Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, completing the receiving log for all receipts.
Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods.
Responsible for the receiving of all goods, accepting, or returning merchandise according to established company procedures.
Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods to appropriate storage areas. Handles customer pick-ups.
Maintains internal record-keeping systems, including working with the production control manager on schedule maintenance and execution.
Maintains internal material staging systems, implementing, and utilizing visual management systems for job readiness and improving the process as the need arises. Responsible for the manufacture of containers and crates, packaging goods to be shipped in a safe manner and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is always secure.
Leads annual inventory process.
Responsible for the tidiness of your designated area (ensuring no product left on the shop floor) and putting everything away into racks or Stores.
Oversight of shipping/receiving employees, procedures, and policies.
Ensure safe work practices are in place for shipping/receiving related activities.
Work and assist other employees in improving safety.
Note any problems to the Plant Manager or Production Control Manager that will affect the safety of other employees, the production due dates or the quality of every manufactured product.
Fill out all shipping paperwork accurately and deliver to appropriate departments in a timely manner.
File purchase requisitions as required.
Receive and check incoming products against packing slips, MTR’s, or letter of compliance to Quality Assurance.
Perform any other tasks required to better the company.
Will also be using table saws, skill saws, nail guns, overhead cranes, and other hand tools as per company policy.
Operate forklift, Overhead Crane, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
Follow Cambridge Pro Fab’s rules and regulations, including health and safety policies and procedures.
Abide by the OHSA and other federal and provincial regulations.
Wear approved personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and foot protection.
Maintaining the required level of quality.
Work and assist other employees in continuously improving safety and production demands and quality.
Responsible for all receiving of goods.
Occasional use of overhead cranes, forklift, ladders and other equipment as per company procedures (the use of equipment is prohibited unless proper (approved) training is received, and the training is evaluated and documented).
