POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, this position performs a variety of functions in an engineering and manufacturing capacity. These duties include but are not limited to developing, revising, and editing CAD drawings for fabricated products, creating, and revising bill of materials (BOM) based on designs, trouble shooting and evaluating design inefficiencies and providing support, as assisting in other engineering projects, as required. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Manufacturing and Sales Teams to develop, design and review Albarrie engineering drawings and design layouts.
- Create bills of material (BOM) for Albarrie produced and outsourced products and create new items within the ERP system.
- Maintain and coordinate change control process for updates to BOM's based on engineered drawings.
- Work with the engineering team to develop initial product cost model from design and BOM perspective.
- Perform time studies with the manufacturing group on new and existing products.
- Support and liaison with the sales teams on the development of product by looking at the parameters and constraints on machinery and providing research results and recommendations.
- Research and source parts for the designs and create requisitions for approval.
- Participate in other engineering projects, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College diploma in Mechanical Technologist or a Degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years' experience working within a manufacturing or industrial application environment.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, and creation of bill of materials (BOM).
- Proficiency in mechanical design, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
- Must be good in conceptualizing ideas and converting them into a manufacturable design.
- Experience creating and working within process engineering and design.
- Experience in creating new items and setting up BOM in ERP system.
