Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Job Description :

Our client, a dynamic company specializing in the design and manufacturing of intelligent labeling systems, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer/Designer to join their team. Located on the North Shore, this company offers a unique opportunity for professionals who wish to contribute to the development of innovative labeling machines. You will work under the supervision of the engineering and operations management.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design intelligent labeling machines respecting established standards, specifications and methodologies.
• Work on projects from kick-off to production by collaborating with the design team and other departments.
• Carry out modeling and design of labeling machine components by analyzing customer requirements, existing concepts, and ensuring the feasibility of the concept.
• Validate parameters such as shape, dimension, mobility, weight, resistance and materials used.
• Create and validate a 3D design that meets the specifications and required quality, recording the information in the specifications.
• Produce technical plans for customer acceptance and for production, setting requirements for subcontractors and optimizing projects with the production manager.
• Collaborate closely with other departments, including production, purchasing and quality, to ensure effective integration of designs into the manufacturing process.
• Actively participate in solving complex problems related to design and mechanical engineering.

Experience and Skills:

• University degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2 years or more of experience in a similar field.
• Member of the OIQ (an asset).
• Strong computer-aided design (CAD) skills and proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM)
• Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written (French/English).
• Results-oriented with a constant concern for operational efficiency.
