Mental Health Worker – Clubhouse Program

Stepping Stone Community Services Society is seeking a part-time Mental Health Worker to work primarily Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-2pm in the Clubhouse Program.

The Clubhouse is a psychosocial rehabilitation program, which provides a range of client-centered support and rehabilitation services for individuals living with a mental illness. The main purpose of Clubhouse is to support individuals in their recovery journey. Specific programs assist members to develop skills, build confidence and improve quality of life. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter committed to providing quality service for the people we serve. This is a front-line position and will suit someone who has an interest in supporting people in food service activities such as menu planning, shopping and cooking.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients to develop their recovery plan
• Facilitate clients participation in programs
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs and activities
• Facilitate group activities

Education, Training and Experience

• Degree or diploma in the social service field
• One year of experience in the Mental Health field, (relevant combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of psychosocial rehabilitation
• Commitment to problem-solving, strength-based approach
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to work as part of a team

Requirements

• 15 hour flexible work week which may include evening and weekend hours
• May be an opportunity for some additional casual hours
• Criminal Record Check
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Reliable vehicle
• Current First Aid and CPR
• FOODSAFE Level 1

Remuneration

$26 – $27.18 per hour dependent on experience, benefit package after 6 months.
