Working in a supported living home with 2 men who have developmental disabilities and mental illness
In Your Role You Will
Typical overnight shift may include:
- Evening activities; assist/model nightly bed-time routine (personal hygiene, brushing teeth, etc.)
- Overnight awake duties will include - basic household chores (light cleaning, laundry, meal prep), completing log notes, other reports and training, etc.
- Client wakes until AM shift arrives - assist/model a regular morning routine, including normal hygiene, household tasks (including food prep, daily chores, etc.)
- Administer medication, first aid if/when necessary.
The Position
Front-line community disability services role supports the development of skills and independence to empower persons with developmental disabilities to pursue and fulfill their goals, objectives and aspirations.
12hr Night Awake shifts (7pm-7am) working 5 shifts on/5 shifts off

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
- Experience working with persons with a developmental disability &/or mental health concerns
- Experience supporting personal care and aids to daily living (ADLs)
- High School Diploma. Ideally, post secondary education in a related human services field
- MUST HAVE - Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; reliable vehicle, clean driver’s abstract and adequate insurance
- Skills in coaching/assisting individuals in life skills, anger management, daily chores, self help & problem solving, etc.
- Committed to philosophies and principles of community based living for individuals in service.
- Good computer skills - as all files are electronic
- Internal applicants must successfully complete their probationary period prior to applying
