Job description

The Nuclear Business Development Manager will be responsible for strategically generating business and project pursuit direction in Canada and establishing a centralization framework for effectively delivering product and service management. This role will be instrumental in enabling customer happiness by collaboratively partnering with the Impact Partner network (sales channel) and internal talent to understand and meet end user expectations. Reporting into the [Nuclear] Sales Director, this role will have a strong matrixed report into the Unit Director for North America and will have contact with all global Nuclear Manufacturing locations.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Nuclear Business across Canada at the Final Control level including ownership for order budget and establishing sales and financial planning processes to include all nuclear manufacturing locations.
  • Drive business and revenue growth in partnership with local Emerson Impact Partners (sales channel) by finding opportunities in developing market segments and upcoming customer spend including customer capital projects.
  • Develop and establish long-term replacement product and parts sales business contribution through active collaboration with the Emerson Impact Partners.
  • Build and develop an Emerson presence in local nuclear community and associations by supporting the Emerson Impact Partners at industry events and through industry committees.
  • Be the local Emerson focal point / nuclear representative for the Emerson Impact Partners on new small modular reactor (SMR) forecasted projects. Provide market intelligence on competition to improve Emerson future installed base.
  • Ensure business is conducted in compliance with nuclear safety requirements and in accordance with the company ethics policy, quality systems and trade compliance procedures.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or 8 years of proven experience in industrial sales and/or service (in lieu of a degree).
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the power generation industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Tried background in proactive frontline selling within a technical environment.
  • Nuclear Industry knowledge.
  • Experience working within a matrixed organization.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record to influence and lead change.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well independently
