Overview
We are a small tennis court construction company located in a small office building in Aurora. We are looking for someone to be in the office to do some basic administrative and accounting tasks. This is not a fast paced, demanding job, there are minimal daily duties outside of revising documents and contracts, answering the phone and relaying information to the Manager/Owner, and handling the books (accounts receivables/ payables, invoicing, etc.). The ideal candidate will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, will have knowledge of basic accounting and small business finance, and will have patience and a willingness to assist in organizing the company's administrative operations.
This is a full time position from April - October; and part-time (minimal weekly hours) from November to March.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with payroll processing
- Draft and revise contracts
- Answer the main office phone line, communicate with clients and relay information to the Owners
Skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices and competent bookkeeping skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of website construction and web management an asset
- Knowledge of computer troubleshooting problems
- Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and other systems (QuickBooks)
- Experience working in an administrative office setting an asset
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and customer service best practices
- Interest in tennis and/or a strong desire to learn about tennis is a plus!
