Office Manager Job Responsibilities:
Supports company operations by creating and maintaining office systems, including but not limited to the following departments – office administration, recruitment, human resources, health and safety, and purchasing.
Office Manager Job Duties:
- Maintains office functions by organizing office operations and procedures, specifically administration, recruitment, health and safety and human resources.
- Designs and implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures; measuring results against standards; making necessary adjustments.
- Organize meetings and manage databases.
- Deals with correspondence, complaints, and queries.
- Prepare letters, presentations, and reports as required.
- Research and book training as required.
- Supervise and monitor the work of the administrative staff.
- Assist with finance functions as needed.
- Keeps management informed by reviewing and analyzing; summarizing information; identifying trends.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, interviewing, orienting, and training employees.
- Ensures health and safety practices are always up to date, including necessary training, including the creation of a health and safety manual.
- Drafts disciplinary forms as required and assists managers with delivery.
- Prepares and processes performance reviews with assistance from management.
- Administers company benefits with assistance from head office.
- Works closely with the Corporate Human Resources Manager at head office.
Requirements:
- Five years (5) of experience in office administration.
- Two years (2) of experience in an office management role.
- Office management experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in human resources and health and safety.
- Purchasing knowledge in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
- Having knowledge of and understanding accounting principles is an asset.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time efficiency skills.
- Adaptability, leadership, and problem-solving skills are imperative.
- Must be detail-oriented and foster a positive work environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, & PowerPoint.
