Office Manager - YUSA

Salary: $76,000 to $78,000
The Role – What is the scope of work?
The Office Manager role at York University Staff Association (YUSA), Toronto campus encompasses high level decision-making as well as hands-on administrative tasks. This position is responsible for providing the full-time officers with executive and administrative support that will enable them to work effectively on leading and advancing YUSA’s strategic priorities. This position provides administrative support to the Executive Board. This position is also responsible for planning, organizing, and managing YUSA’s internal operational, administrative, and work processes including staff management, finance and IT coordination. This position participates as a member of the Management Team and triages complex and sensitive issues.
The Person – What is YUSA looking for?
Educational requirement: The position requires a post-secondary diploma in business, business-administration or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience requirement:
- A minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a fast-paced office environment, including supporting senior leaders and/or volunteer Boards/Committees, preferably working in a unionized environment.
- Experience supervising staff including performance management.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Highly effective written, oral communication skills.
- Ability to proactively support senior leaders and committees.
- Highly effective in maintaining strategic partnerships.
- Strong organizational abilities including planning, dealing with ambiguity, and delegation.
- Strong technical skills in MS Office suite, Google Workplace, and videoconferencing.
- Experience with and affinity for unions in the movement for social and economic justice.
