Operations Lead

The Gibsons Community Building Society (GCBS) is a not-for-profit organization operating the Gibsons Public Market and the Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre. The Gibsons Public Market boasts a merchant floor with various food vendors, an award-winning bistro, public gathering spaces, and rentable spaces - for events, meetings, and educational experiences. The Nicholas Sonntag Marine Education Centre is housed within the Gibsons Public Market. It is a unique collect-hold-release aquarium with over 70 local species and provides an awe-inspiring experience to connect visitors with the ocean environment. The centre also conducts educational programs for school-age children and environmental conservation projects.

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Operations Lead has a dynamic and integral role in overseeing the operation of the GCBS office and Gibsons Public Market building. They provide key administrative support for the two societies, their leadership teams, and volunteer boards.

The Lead oversees the work of the Administrative Assistants, Facilities Assistant, and other frontline staff, as assigned. The Operations Lead oversees the organization of the office, administrative tasks, facilities tasks, coordinates volunteers, and supports the execution of community events and programs as necessary.
