- The Operations Manager for Napanee and Kingston sites of Upper Canada Fuel and Burner is a key leadership role within our organization. You will be supported by a full panel of experienced managers at other sites, and will operate as the key management contact for Napanee and Kingston. The information below outlines the main elements of the position.
- Operational Supervision of the Fuel, Lubricant and HVAC business in Napanee & Kingston.
- Management of staff: Direct Reports include all Napanee & Kingston Drivers, Dispatcher, HVAC, Office Admin staff and Maintenance support staff
- Management of staff includes involvement in: Training, Staffing levels, recruitment and selection, timesheet monitoring, performance reviews, health and safety
- Responsible for general repair, maintenance, cleanliness and general safety standards for Napanee and Kingston sites. First to respond to all issues, coordinate repairs with outside sources as needed. Coordinate subcontracting of seasonal maintenance
- Management of complete fleet within the region including tankers, propane trucks, service vans, misc. vehicles, fork lift, trailer and equipment
- Coordinate labour and equipment necessary to complete installations, pick ups and repairs. Collaborate with other site Operations Managers as needed.
- Maintain master list of all company owned field equipment that is both on UCF property as well as customer property, including location of property and serial numbers
- Review and approve internal paperwork related to loaned equipment; enter documentation in company software and maintain tracking mechanisms
- HVAC management: Documentation of hazards on customer accounts and appropriate follow-up with customers as needed, oversight of technician's schedules, parts ordering and invoicing
- Fuel Delivery management: Profitability and efficiency reviews: review of hours worked, km driven, volume delivered and assess employee productivity. Oversight responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of driver paperwork. Review and document all safety incidents and near misses, arrange preventative measures. Co-ordinate internal driving evaluations.
- Site safety and environmental safety: Oil/Water Separator maintenance and sampling. Oversee documented safety inspections daily/ weekly/ monthly checks and reporting.
- Coordinate response to all Napanee/ Kingston emergencies, i.e. spills, accidents etc.; maintain detailed notes and pictures. Assist with emergencies at other sites as needed. On call for customer after hour calls, driver and truck issues, after hour alarm issues, and all building and property issues.
- Inventory Management : Daily ordering of fuel for Napanee/ Kingston operations; maximizing profitability by reviewing rack price changes and determining appropriate pick up time at fuel terminals; reporting and investigating variances.

- G class driver's license (minimum)
- This is a day-time, in-person position of approximately 40-50 hours per week. Additional time requirements can vary for on-call availability and supervision.
