Primary Purpose
The Operations Technology Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, support, and reliable operations of our Operational Technology Applications, especially our Fleet Management System - Wenco FMS, and our Drilling Application - CAT Terrain Systems across Conuma's mine site properties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer Conuma's operational technology system, including Wenco FMS and Cat Terrain for Drilling.
- Supporting, integrating, and acquisition of other operational technology systems.
- Provide operational support for engineering and real-time applications and technical infrastructure.
- Provide second-level technical support for local mines, act as the top tier of the internal OT system support function to the users, and escalate complex issues to vendor support teams.
- Work closely with Dispatchers, the IT Server team. the Networking team, and on-site electricians to respond to support requests and remediate issues at the earliest opportunity.
- SME role in integrating equipment data relevant to equipment maintenance to the EAM system and other improvement projects for Maintenance Processes and Operations.
- Delegate and oversee completion of mobile equipment hardware support needs, supporting in-field electricians and maintenance teams as required.
- Monitor Mesh network communication and onboard radios on all equipment in the Mine Pits.
- Build and support custom database-driven reports that drive operational improvement using SQL, Excel Power Query (M-Code)/PowerPivot, and Power BI.
- Uphold data accuracy and integrity standards by monitoring inbound data and resolving issues.
- Decrease mean-time-to-repair of the overall OT support function.
- Provide thorough technical documentation for bugs, issues, and system improvements. Provide follow-up responses as required and drive tickets through to resolution and implementation.
- Prioritize and manage work according to operational needs and provided priorities.
- Build positive working relationships with internal and external customers and vendors and attend weekly meetings to review progress and priorities.
- Standardize system use and configuration across the enterprise; create and disseminate end-user documentation and training materials.
- Lead by example, uphold, and promote Conuma's unwavering focus on safety.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and new releases in coordination with Operations and other stakeholders.
- Manage user access to systems and reporting.
- Comply with all Conuma Resources policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in IT/Computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Mining experience is highly desirable. A mining engineering degree is preferred.
- 2+ years experience using or administering mining technology systems, e.g., Wenco, Minestar, CAT Terrain, Modular, in a role such as a system administrator, dispatch engineer/supervisor, system analyst, senior dispatcher, network administrator, communications system specialist, ect.
- Familiarity with mobile equipment, fleet management system hardware/software installation and configuration.
- Knowledge of network-based, high precision GPS hardware and systems (e.g., Trimbler, Novatel).
- Proficient with office applications (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ect.).
- Experience with Rajant Wireless networks would be a vital asset.
- Experience working in an ERP environment (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) and Asset Management System is highly desirable.
