Job Title: Child and Youth Support Worker
Job Type: Part Time
Salary: $21.00 - $23.00

Job Summary:
Carpe Diem Therapeutic Foster homes are seeking full-time Child and Youth workers to support a 14-year-old female youth with complex mental health. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing support and care to the client on a day-to-day basis. The youth with require 1:1 staffing, day, evening, and overnight shifts are required for this role.
Schedule:
Saturday and Sunday
8:00am-4:00pm
4:00pm-12:00am
12:00am-8:00am
Work Location: In person.
Expected Start Date: March 11, 2024
Duties:
· Support the needs of the client the foster/mentor homes.
· Ensure safety plan is being followed and ensuring safety measures and followed.
· Assisting client with grocery shopping, preparing meals and chores within the home.
· Ensuring nightly bed checks are being documented every hour via shift notes on We-Schedule App.
· Promote behavioral change and personal growth of children and Youth who are having difficulties coping because of social, emotional, physical, or cognitive delays.
· Support clients achieve their established goals using a strength-based approach.
· Initiates a variety of programming, related to the specific needs and goals of the client.
· Consults with case manager and foster parents.
· Attend meetings and appointments as it pertains to the client.
· Complete ‘End of Shift Report’ via We-Schedule at the end of each shift.
· Complete Incident Reports and submit them to Case Manager.
· Use of personal vehicles may be required on a case-by-case basis (use of personal vehicle will be to transport child or youth to access visits, appointment, and recreational programming).
· Providing crisis intervention support client.
· Attend plan of care meetings, health appointments and support access visits as needed
Education and Training:
Post Secondary Education such as diploma, certificate or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Service Worker, Social Work, or related field
*Training in Crisis Intervention and Behavior Management will be provided*
Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, mental health issues, and trauma informed care. They should possess good communication, problem solving and resolution. Other skills may include crisis intervention, behavior management, and knowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to children and Youth in care.
