Part Time Cook

St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre requires Cooks. This is a Part Time position with a guarantee of 52.5 hours bi-weekly, with lots of opportunity to pick up additional hours. We offer a company Pension Plan and competitive wages.

Duties:

• Prepares and cook/bakes foods for residents/staff and visitors
• Follows recipes and all guidelines outlined in job duties
• Operates various equipment used in food preparation and service and ensures all safety/cleaning instructions are followed.
• Responsible for ensuring foods have met all requirements for food service/storage and handling. (HACCP)
• Puts away stores making sure all items are in good condition and accounted for
• Performs audits/prepares food orders when required
• Ensures all staff are present and on duty in the absence of management.
• Performs any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Food Safety Certification Course.
• Graduate of a formal accredited cooking course / License issued by Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
• Experience in institutional cooking preferred.

• Ability to lift heavy pans/pots/groceries
• Ability to work in stressful situations and make decisions
• Bilingualism an asset.
• Participates in the Public Health Food Safety Awareness Program and Other recommended skills development programs.
• Must be available to work all shifts.

Salary: $25.27 - 26.21
