Job Summary:
We are a small vegetarian cafe located on Whyte Ave currently seeking a dedicated line-cook to join our team in the food industry (experienced is preferred; but a willingness to learn is also acceptable) . As a line-cook, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with food safety guidelines. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry is preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Skills:
- Food handling: Experience handling and preparing food in a safe and sanitary manner
- Cooking: Proficient in various cooking techniques and familiar with different types of cuisine
- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Food preparation: Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and prepare meals efficiently
- Restaurant: Understanding of restaurant operations and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Help: Willingness to assist team members as needed to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
- Food service: Experience providing excellent customer service in a food service setting
- Meal preparation: Ability to plan, prepare, and present meals according to specific dietary requirements or preferences
- Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils commonly used in food preparation
Wage:
Probationary Period 3 months $15.00/hour (tips will be included after training)
After probationary period $16/hour
Tips are divided for the day 75% Front of House and 25% Back of House

Friday, Saturday 10:30am -9pm
Sunday 10:30 am - 4pm
Afternoon Shifts cut offs at 4 pm.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $15.00 per hour
