We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations and providing exceptional patient care. This position is based in a hospital setting, where you will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and organization
- Process medication orders, including data entry and labeling
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering inquiries and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate medication administration
- Assist in the management of medication recalls and returns
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies regarding pharmacy operations
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy area
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or Pharmacy Technician is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems
