Portfolio Manager Job Details
- Interface with internal PHDIS stakeholders to catalogue and track technology strategies and roadmap priorities and status.
- Supports the assessment of current operating models and technologies to inform future state technology transformation and implementation plans.
- Lead the technology business planning process for the cloud, technology, infrastructure and security portfolio including ideation, development of funding requests and supporting artifacts, coordinating and interfacing with health organization processes, roles, and governance, and providing closed loop reporting to internal stakeholders.
- Lead the business case development functions to produce relevant artifacts for approved funding requests on the health organization business plans including briefing notes, presentations, investment strategies, financial workbooks, and business cases.
- Lead and manage program resources to support portfolio objectives including program coordinators and business case writers / project managers.
- Liaise with key clinical and business stakeholders through established governance forums to facilitate project ideation, prioritization, and funding approval.
- Responsible for project demand / pipeline management functions, processes, tools and artifacts as inputs into program and project capacity management functions for the TPD portfolio.
- Responsible for development of annual continuous service improvement (CSI) plans for portfolio functions and informs the overall program.
- Develop budgets and track/report financial performance for Business Management portfolio functions.
- Provide portfolio performance reporting including status, financials, risks/issues, constraints, etc.
- Interface with portfolio delivery functions and program resources to enable project transition to execution phase.
- Demonstrated capability in handling sensitive and challenging situations.
- Demonstrated capability to work with Senior Management and Senior Executives.
- Must be able to work independently to solve problems.
- Proven project management, analytical skills, people skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven facilitation skills and experience in a clinically oriented business setting.
Portfolio Manager Mandatory Skills
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a degree in Project Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Management or a related discipline.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of recent, related experience in project, program and/or portfolio management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (or equivalent)
- Experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Experienced in thoroughly integrating change management and process improvement principles into own project management style.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
Portfolio Manager Nice-To-Have Skills
- Past project management experience with Technology and Clinical Information Systems is an asset, as is work experience within British Columbia's health care system.
