Fuel your career with purpose and be a part of the first greenfield Gas Plant with sulphur recovery to be constructed in Alberta in 30 years.

We're searching for dynamic leaders and outstanding Operators to shape the future at our newest facility in Albright, AB, situated near the communities of Beaverlodge, Wembley and Grande Prairie. The facility will serve the growing sour natural gas processing needs of multiple producers in the region and will enhance CSV’s existing platform of natural gas processing infrastructure in Alberta’s prolific Montney play.

Current Opportunities at Albright include:

  • Lead Operator (1st class)
  • Shift Lead (2nd class)
  • Gas Plant Operators (3rd or 4th class)

Ideally, these positions have an excellent working knowledge of the following, but not limited to: Natural Gas Compression, Gas Sweetening, Refrigeration, Sulfur Recovery

Lead Operator

Reporting to the Plant Coordinator, the Lead Operator will:

  • Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to plant Operators
  • Steward CSV’s values and guide team in achieving goals
  • Have experience in condensate stabilization, steam generation, and water treatment systems
  • Oversee and ensure all plant processes and process changes
  • Ensure employees comply with CSV’s safety protocols
  • Support and/or ensure alignment with maintenance procedures and management of change processes
  • will have a 1st class steam ticket and a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience working in a Gas Plant.

Shift Lead

Reporting to the Lead Operator, the Shift Lead:

  • Is fully competent as a Shift Lead in the startup, shut down and operation of Plant facilities. Closely monitors plant levels, pressures, temperatures, and flows, relaying any deviations for decision as required
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to individuals on the team
  • Understands control room functions and activities including monitoring field and plant processes through communication and on-site surveillance. Makes appropriate decisions to adjust levels, pressures, temperatures and flows as needed, including to start up or shut down equipment to maintain operating efficiencies and production nominations
  • Maintains ongoing production log to ensure key communications between operating shifts
  • Maintains awareness of shut down schedules with maintenance and contractors to minimize production loss and maximize process efficiency.
  • Coordinates process adjustments and changes with Senior Operating staff, to establish design parameters and set criteria for good operating practice.
  • will have a minimum of a 2nd class steam ticket, 8 years’ experience working in a Gas Plant and a valid Class 5 Drivers License.

Gas Plant Operator

Reporting to the Shift Lead, the Operator will:

  • perform routine operational equipment surveillance, equipment start-up’s and shutdowns
  • perform process and equipment troubleshooting
  • optimize processes for efficient operation
  • manage trades/contractors during scheduled and unscheduled services and repairs
  • operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner
  • perform housekeeping and maintenance activities
  • manage facility production on a daily basis
  • participate as a team member and provide mentorship to peers as required
  • conduct all activities following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
  • uphold CSV’s values and place a focus on safety
  • will have a minimum of a 4th class Steam Ticket, a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a Gas Plant and a valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Requirements

  • Must be registered with ABSA or another Canadian provincial authority as a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th class Power Engineer
  • Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
  • Valid class 5 drivers licence (or equivalent)
  • Live local to the Grande Prairie area or willing to relocate (This is not a camp based position)
  • Gas plant processing experience preferred
  • Shift Lead & Operator will work a 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off. Lead Operator will work a 4 days on, 3 days off (Tues - Friday)
