ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY PRINCIPAL/VICE PRINCIPAL – ELIGIBILITY POOL

We anticipate several Principal and Vice Principal openings for next school year and invite applications for our hiring pool.

Annual pay range for Principal, Elementary: $146,130 - $154,402
Annual pay range Vice Principal, Elementary: $128,184 - $135,442
Annual pay range Principal, Secondary: $154,402 - $162,675
Annual pay range Vice principal, Secondary: $135,442 - $142,696

Education, Experience and Competencies:
Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum or other relevant area or a commitment to enroll in a Masters’ degree after hiring.
Valid Certificate of Qualification issued by the BC Ministry of Education and Childcare or eligibility for qualification.
Proven ability to engage and collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents and the broader community where the focus is on student success.
Demonstrated commitment and action towards meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous Nations, families and students.
Knowledge of current instructional strategies such as Response to Intervention (RTI), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Inquiry-Based Learning, Literacy and Numeracy development.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to plan and organize effectively for exemplary instructional leadership.
Demonstrated leadership ability and commitment to working as a member of a broader administrative team.
Excellent skills as a visible, accessible, dynamic, innovative and flexible leader.
A history of excellent teaching practice, in addition to (if possible) with learners with diverse needs.
Knowledge and implementation of current learning research as related to instruction and assessment.
Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and the importance of life-long learning.
An established understanding of and commitment to excellence in education to support the needs of learners, especially Indigenous learners and children in care.
Experience with educational uses of technology, student information systems (MyEdBC), and other administrative software.
Knowledge of the Ministry of Education's K-12 curriculum and the updated Graduation Program.
Experience and knowledge of Inclusive Education Programs (including alternative education, learning support, special education, educational assistant support and active participation on the School-Based Team).
Ability to support and maintain a safe and caring school environment through caring relationships and positive behavioural intervention supports.
