Job Description
Upon your arrival, you will support the engineering team in design and process engineering for projects around the world. You will report to the Team Leader, Process Engineering. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team while enriching your career and working on Enerkem's unique disruptive technology.
Your role and responsibilities will be:
- Participates in the definition of the project, the development of the process engineering plan and the necessary resources and the establishment of priorities for the project.
- Provided technical assistance and required training to other team members
- Reviews and approves the technical deliverables of the process team
- In charge of the development, delivery and transfer of process engineering (PFD, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), mass and energy balance, equipment data sheets, etc.).
- Designs and specifies process equipment (distillation columns, absorbers, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, amenities, etc.).
- Designs and scales industrial chemical processes based on data from pilot plant or demonstration plants of Enerkem.
- Provided basic engineering to detail engineering team
- Participates in HAZOP projects and ensures the implementation of recommendations.
- Coordinates and travels to clients and external engineering firms to participate in project-related activities.
- Review final manufacturing and construction plans.
- Performs economic and technical feasibility studies.
- Develop cause and effect matrices and control logics.
- Provided operational support in developing operating guidelines and troubleshooting systems
- Develops and implements commissioning plans for new systems.
- Supports factories during commissioning of new projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
- Minimum of 10 years in a Process Engineer role
- Experience in the design of chemical, petrochemical and/or refining processes and in industrial projects
- Advanced user of equipment design, piping sizing and process simulation tools (Hysys, Aspen Plus, Aspen Shell and Tube, HTRI).
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with engineering customers and suppliers, an asset
- Ability to manage a team of engineers/specialists with minimal supervision.
- Be able to manage several files with little supervision.
- Rigor and team spirit.
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
