The Product Application Engineer for ELIP (Electrification Installation Products Division) will be the dedicated product sales support person and will foster direct relationships with key customers to grow the business with our Elastimold apparatus portfolio.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the market development and product specification position effort for new and existing products to achieve sales objectives in the Utility Markets
- Deliver product technical presentations to customers
- Provide product and application support for end-users, distributors, and field sales
- Participate in proposal packages (technical section)
- Create case studies and provide raw technical content for marketing and sales collateral
- Interface with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Product Engineering to develop new product opportunities
- Provide technical representation for the business in national, regional, and local industry tradeshows and industry events
- Provide company representation on assigned technical standards committees and groups
- Provide competitive intelligence reporting on competitive product offerings and market position
- Help coordinate and participate in product marketing activities, engineering seminars, customer training, and field sales training
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably in Electrical Engineering
- Preferred 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer customer support role, preferably with medium or high voltage products in the Utility Industry
- Working knowledge of medium or high voltage electrical systems and equipment
- Track record of strong technical competency
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications
- Travel required about 50%
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
