What is the opportunity?

This role is accountable for assisting in the design, development and management of RBC Life’s Permanent Life products to ensure alignment with short and long term enterprise objectives and the effective management of each product through its’ life cycle. This position supports revenue enhancement and prudent NIAT growth.  This role clearly supports the attainment of our strategic objectives and greatly influences the brand reputation for RBC Insurance Company.

What will you do?

  • Support all aspects of research, design, and development of Permanent Life products to support strategic direction and to support delivery of required ROE levels.
  • Subject Matter Expert responsible for providing product specific technical direction for areas including but not limited to illustration software development, in-force service, marketing and communications.
  • Be aware of industry trends and development, so that existing products can be revised or replaced to ensure that we continue to offer a competitive range of products.
  • Contribute to achieving revenue, sales goals and market penetration through strong relationships with all distribution and marketing partners.
  • Contribute to success of product initiatives by developing and maintaining strong relationships with partners in key functional areas (underwriting, claims, administration, etc.)
  • Partner with key functional areas to ensure a continuous improvement discipline focused on simplifying processes to drive revenue, improve efficiency and client experience.

What will you need to succeed?

  • 3+ years of experience leading product development activities in the life and disability insurance market and Strong knowledge and insight into the Life and Health insurance marketplace.
  • Detail oriented with problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Team player and collaborator: Ability to impact and influence across a variety of cross functional internal partners.
  • Strategic business sense, organizational awareness, change management and leadership skills
  • Ability to create change from concept to execution
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, handling varied and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/negotiation skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Self-starter, curious, with a growth mindset
