Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and managing the workflow of the production floor by organizing and assigning the responsibilities of employees.
Responsibilities include:
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
- Diagnose and repair injection moulding machines as required.
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of injection moulding processing.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Oversees employees by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Check production output according to specifications.
- Identify issues in efficiency and implement improvements.
- Problem solving of manufacturing and tooling related problems.
- Perform any other duties maybe assigned by the Plant Manager as and when needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
- High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an advantage
- Knowledge of automotive industry core tools such as control plans, etc.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, etc. an asset.
- Proven experience as Production Supervisor or similar role
- Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
- Strong skills in MS Office
- Organizational and leadership abilities
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Problem-solving skills
- Prior experience in a unionized, manufacturing or injection moulding environment would be an asset.
