Production Supervisor

Commercial Alumfab Inc. is a Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Glazing Manufacturer. We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the position of Plant Supervisor.

In this position, you will be involved with:

• Supervises curtainwall and door manufacturing and coordinates the activities of workers operating machines, fabrication, assemblies and inspects all products;
• Has experience in aluminum, door hardware and glass in order to problem solve and initiate improvements;
• Exercises supervisory control over the company’s day to day production activities, including but not limited to the planning, assigning, directing and coordinating of activities relating to operations, safety, quality, production, training and employee relations;
• Tracks and reports daily production; and drives improvements where necessary;
• Participates, leads and monitors productivity, quality, ergonomics, 5S, lean manufacturing, etc.;
• Follow ISO 9002 quality standards and procedures and ensure that finished products meet established quality requirements;
• Must organize production schedule and keep staff informed and up to date with expectations and deadlines;
• Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals in support of business objectives;
• Housekeeping management;
• Responsible for the safe operation of forklifts, and shop equipment;
• Responsible for the maintenance of shop equipment and machinery.

Skills Required:

• Must have experience with curtain wall;
• Team Player;
• Reliable, hard-working and willing to learn;
• Speaks English fluently;
• Familiar with commercial glazing components; experience in construction is an asset;
• Knowledgeable with commercial hardware;
• Comfortable using hand and power tools;
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and drawings;
• Ability to follow written instructions and instructions from other workers;
• Minimum 3 years work experience;
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
