The Position:
We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Production Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with our production team to ensure the production process is efficient and effective. The Production Supervisor will resolve production issues and/or delays while achieving safety, quality, delivery, and cost saving targets to meet organizational goals. The Production Supervisor will also have strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and motivate a team to ensure operational excellence. What You Will Do:
· Supervise production, processes, resources, team members; direct work and resources as per production schedule and plan
· Minimize production costs by utilizing team members, materials and equipment in the safest most effective and efficient manner
· Supervisor team members day to day performance within a unionized environment, following the collective agreement and in collaboration with the Production Manager, Human Resources
· Supervise and report on time & attendance, coach, train and develop team members to improve or learn new skills, knowledge or abilities
· Create a high performing team with good communication, respectful interactions, clear/consistent expectations, building trust and a strong team culture
· Create a culture of safety and quality, participating in safety and quality programs and activities as required
· Recommend and embrace continuous improvements to processes
· Collaborate with the Production Manager and team members to eliminate production issues and delays
· Document, maintain records or reporting for production activities
· Review daily performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
· Adhere to and ensure team members follow all organizational policies and procedures
· Participate on special projects, or assignments as required
What You Bring:
· Post secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset
· Two to four years experience in a supervisory role within an unionized and industrial environment preferred
· Ability to read measurement devices, read and follow project specifications and direct others appropriately
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Effective supervisory skills (coaching, performance management, training, creating great teams within a respectful and safe environment)
· Good computer skills
· Demonstrates an excellent work ethic
· Embraces change and sees opportunities for improvement; supports and inspires others to welcome change
