General oversight of production tasks ensuring safe practices are being followed and that work is executed in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for ensuring assemblies and builds are completed to Novaflow Standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Drive safety and environmental compliance on the shop floor by adhering to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
2. Work with Production Manager to strategically plan and schedule shop resources to ensure system test and ship dates are met.
3. Provide leadership, coaching and training to shop floor personnel. Communicate any performance, attitude, or attendance issues with shop floor personnel to Production Manager.
4. Direct, oversee and participate in the assembly of systems, retrofits, and sub-assemblies as per drawings.
5. Execute or oversee the quality testing of systems and retrofits to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
6. Able to identify process defects and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.
7. Collaborate with Engineering to identify opportunities to simplify the assembly process through system design.
8. Continuously build capability in team members by providing training and coaching.
9. Ability to work as a team, willing to flow to the work, and demonstrate initiative when working independently.
10. Prepare or oversee the preparation of systems for shipment ensuring system is properly secured for transport.
11. Maintain a clean and organized production area.
12. Assist in the development and testing of new products.
13. Utilize process improvement tools to reduce build times, prevent repeat outages and increase productivity.
14. Lead by example.
15. Attend weekly meetings with Leadership team to discuss Production matters and status.
16. Participate in the hiring of employees and performance reviews.
Qaulifications
- 5+ years of manufacturing and leadership experience.
- Mechanical Skills; knowledge of machine tools including their repair and maintenance.
- Problem solving skills; ability to identify problems and trouble shoot the root cause of the problem.
- Maintenance: ensuring tools and equipment are maintained. Ability to repair machines or systems using required tools.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret Engineered drawings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all team members.
- Vaid driver’s licence.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and proficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
