Job Summary
Bonaventure Support Services is a dynamic agency supporting adults, children, and youth in the social service sector on Vancouver Island. We are seeking a qualified individual to temporarily complement our leadership team as the Program Director overseeing Youth Services within our Community Housing programs. This position is a temporary, full-time role, providing essential leadership during a leave of absence. The end date of this temporary coverage is currently unknown.
The Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director. This position is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, providing supervision, leadership, and direction to the Youth Program Managers. This position actively supports and implements the vision, mission, values, and program goals of the agency. They are well versed in the agency Policy and Procedures, adhering to the Leadership Handbook, Action Plan and Monthly Competency, focusing on health and safety and quality improvement, specifically in relation to CARF Accreditation.
Responsibilities
- Represent Bonaventure Support Services in a professional manner within community, while on various committees with outside agencies, funders, and guardians.
- Work in collaboration with MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, DDMHT, HSCL, Behavior Consultants, etc. and the Bonaventure Leadership team.
- Uphold the Policies and Procedures of Bonaventure Support Services while modelling our Mission Statement, Values and Code of Ethics.
- Adhere to any relevant Legislation and Regulations (Motor Vehicle Act, CLBC, MCFD, CARF, WorkSafe-BC, Employment Standards).
- Be well versed in the intricacies of CARF Accreditation Standards and be able to educate and support Managers on these standards.
- Develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate all programs and outcomes to align with the standards and expectations of our funders, CARF and Bonaventure Policy and Procedures.
- Conduct regular Program audits; reviewing ShareVision, each Program and regularly monitor medication administration to ensure consistency in delivery of service.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive team spirit and pleasant work environment, promoting an effective and supportive working relationship with all team members.
- Ability to evaluate issues and identify resolution, leading through difficult situations and maintain a team spirit.
- Train, orientate, coach, evaluate, support and mentor program managers.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Preferred formal education (Diploma or Degree, CSW, RCA, SIVA etc.) and/or work experience with persons with diverse-abilities and/or other relevant experience.
- Minimum of three years in a management role.
- Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal behavior and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a high stress environment.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
- The desire and ability to work with persons with diverse-abilities and demonstrate personal suitability to promote dignity, independence, individuality.
- Must be in good health with the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and shift responsibilities.

- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
- RCMP Criminal Record Check (Schedule A - Employer will file).
- MCFD Hub Screening (Employer will file).
- First Aid with CPR Certificate.
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
- Proof of COVID-19 Full Vaccination or Exemption.
- Signed Bonaventure Hire Package.
- 3 Reference Letters - (One must be a most recent employer).
- Physician's Declaration.
